21 Reads in 2021

Welcome to 21 Reads in 2021 Challenge.

I created this challenge of reading 21 books in this 2021 for myself and thought this would be helpful for other readers as well. So am sharing the details of the challenge here. You can self-challenge yourself or nominate other friends as well.

How does this challenge work?

Well, the concept is simple. By the end of this year we have to read 21 books. It can be either fiction or non-fiction. I have given 21 categories down below. You can choose from these categories and start reading.

1. An Inspiring Book

Any book that can inspire you. My recommendations would be Think like a monk, The 5 Am Club, The Alchemist.

2. A book to build a skill

3. Autobiography/Biography

Autobiographies or Biographies of your role model or any famous person. My recommendations would be Wings of fire: An autobiography of Abdul Kalam, Long walk to freedom, Becoming.

4. A book from local author

Any book from your local authors.

5. A book by a female author

There are so many talented female writers out there. Let’s read their books. My recommendations for this category would be Educated, We should all be Feminists, Three thousand stiches.

6. A book made into movies/series

Many books are made into series on Netflix like You, The haunting of a hill house.

7. A crime book

You can go for non-fiction crime books like Gone girl or The girl on the Train or fiction crime books like When the devil whispers.

8. A collection of short stories

Reading short stories is so much fun and one can end up learning a lot from these books. My recommendations would be 100 World’s Greatest Short Stories, Rabindranath Tagore short stories, The greatest short stories of Leo Tolstoy.

9. A book with above 500 pages

In this category you can choose any book from your favorite author. Reading a book with 500 pages is not an easy task. But by trying to do that we can prove to ourselves that we can and feel motivated. This will help us begin our journey of reading big novels if we haven’t started it already.

10. A book about mental health

11. A book about war

12. A self-help book

13. A book about business/finance

14. A classic book

15. A book about friendship

16. A thriller/horror book

17. A book about mindset shift

18. A book with an interesting cover page

Any books cover art that interests you.

19. A book with number in the title

20. A book about future

21. A romantic book

Now there are various challenges like this every year. This year I wanted to include important parts of the life like work, self-care, and relationship in my reading habit and to know a little bot more about them.

You can choose fiction or non-fiction from any of the above categories and read. You can read 2 books per month and complete the challenge in 10 months, or you can go at your own pace.

You can read one book from each category and read 21 different books; you can also read a bunch of books from the same category. It’s all your choice.

If you take up this challenge, please do come back and give me your review in the comments section down below. If you write a blog about it or post on Instagram, you can also share that with us here.

Make sure you share this blog post with your reader friends so they can also participate in this challenge.

The whole point of this challenge is to help you start reading and exploring books of various genres. Even if you try reading a few books from this category that will make me happy and I would consider my mission accomplished.

Happy Reading!

See you guys next week with another interesting article.

Until then, Take Care

Bubye.
